why won't it take pictures?

It was working fine but then the sutter button won't allow it to take pictures. Otherwise it is working fine for viewing.

That sounds like the shutter button is broken not to be very simple about it. It sounds like maybe it is not reacting with the sensor below it. I would get it serviced, especially if it is under warranty. This is not a menu setting issue or anything easy to fix like that.
