Great for point & clickers
( - 12/1/05)I put my new Sony W5 Cybershot up against my 2 year old Kodak CX6330 (3Mpix). I LOVE the features of the Sony. Being a Kodak user, I had to get used to Sony. I took pics of the same subject with BOTH cameras at the same time. Then loaded the pics to my laptop (17" HP). Interestingly, the Kodak had smoother colors—more natural. Seems the Sony was a little exaggerated on color definition for some indoor shots. Then took some outdoor. Both look REAL close outside. One other weakness I noticed with the Sony is constant red-eye (I edit out with PhotoEditor). The flash is RIGHT ON TOP of the lense. Kodak is offset slightly—not much red-eye with it. Anyway—I guess it is a pretty solid camera—good battery life—same as Kodak. But the Kodak ones that are cheaper are JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER! 3x optical—3x digital on most all of them. I also wish Sony had used SD memory (I have 1GB module in both my cameras). Anyway, someone stole my Sony at a skating rink party for my daughter last week! I can't decide what to replace it with. May go back with another Kodak since they are cheaper... but it was fun while it lasted! You can't go wrong for snapshot-point and click shooting.
