My experience with this camera.

(Gustavo - 11/24/06)

First of all, these are only my personal opinion, taken from my own experiences using the camera.
In a 10 scale, I give this camera an 8. considering the relation benefits/price.
Picture Quality = Very good to excelent
Easy of use = Good to very good (not the perfect "point & shot")
Flash: The worst point of the camera, bad positioned, so no matter how, any portrait will give you red eyes (red eyes mode help, but can not make miracles, thanks to photoshop), no matter how far the "targets" are, also the flash has not much "power" and it is not very easy to set, so you can obtain bad results, such as "too dark or too brigth scenes", don't expect a good ilumination far from 12 feet, if you're experienced with photography don't think "night shot" make miracles (low resolution image) unless you use the manual mode and a long exposure, of course this is not useful for a point & shot picture, movement or action pictures, etc, also you have to use a tripod in this cases.
Capture Speed: very good to excelent - You wont lose "those moments"
Manual Operation: good to very good, really manual operation is awesome, with many options that didn't came on more expensive cameras, but not easy to use or set.
Batteries: I still have the original batteries, wich have a nice stamina I allways completly fills my 1g memory before the batteries die.
Package & design: good to very good. Good design, strong enough to support some little drops, the weak point here are: the battery door, wich it is bad positioned and many times you open the battery compartiment accidentally and the flash position that produces red eyes.
Movie Mode: Good quality for movie takes, don't expect a camcorder, but it gives nice result's in video & audio.
Conectors: Video & Audio conections are good and resulting imgages for example in a TV, are sharp & brighten, audio is good without much noise (movie mode), USB conector is a 2.0 USB interface, very fast, you don't need the software provided to download your pictures/movies to the PC.
Missing things: TTL conector for an external flash.
Usage: I'd used this camera among any weather conditions, from snow to beach, almos rainy conditions, and never had a problem, of course I don't expose camera o water, snow, sand or something like that ;-)
I'd take more than 3 thousand photos and capture move than 4 hours of video, and the camera it is still working as the first day.
Maybe I'm lucky !!.
