There is one, but difficult to find. Do NOT buy the one you see at many sites that shows a deep lens adapter that fit the DSC-W1, W-5 and W-7. It does not. the correct one is a small thin silver ring, male/female.

daniel... the w5 has a macro range of 6cm (closest possible) that should give you enough details while shooting closeups.

i dont see a need for any extreme closeup, then you will be showing only the details of your subject (say the pollen of a flower) letting a major part of your subject cropped, a flower in its entirity would be pleasing to look at. i would rather invest in a tripod or some filters - just my opinion, hope it helped you.
