can sony dsc w7 used as a web camera...its not possible ny just connecting to hte usb./..lens doesnt come out.

when dsc w7 connected to television lens come out and we cd see a proper image or video on the screen ..tat doesnt happen when it is used with computer

This is probably because your PC doesn't have webcam drivers for this camera. You could try a basic windows driver, but it's hit or miss if that would work.

There is, however, a tutorial on how to use your camera as a webcam on the Sony website.

Sorry, but the W7, as the W1, can't be used as a "real" webcam. The only way to use it in a "similar" mode is explained in the link given by JamesDeRuvo:
