Do you mean that they're darker after you download them to your computer and play them back? If so, I would wonder if the contrast and darkness on your computer needs adjusting... depending on the program you're using to play them back (like Windows Media Player or whatever), it may have an independent lightness control. As far as I know, all the settings for contrast etc. that you use on your camera will apply to both still photos and video, so technically those should be the same. But it could also be that you are shooting photos in lighter conditions than you're shooting video?
