Sony H10 for indoor kid shots?

I lost my Canon A710 IS and am in the market for a new camera. I want the flexibility of taking great artistic (amateur) shots, but I will mostly use the auto mode or scene presets. I would like a good optical zoom capacity (10X) for sports shots. My Canon did a great job but the flash recycle time was horrendous (about 8-10 seconds). For that reason, I ruled out the Canon SX110IS which has similar reviews. I also looked at the Panasonic Lumix TZ5 but the reviews on indoor shots with the flash are not consistent.

Does anyone know if the Sony H10 would be a good choice for the purposes described above?

Also, would the H50 be a better choice and worth the extra money?

I think you'd be fine with the H10. It's a capable camera, and I think the H50 would be overkill.

I bought the H10 in November. It takes great pictures when you have time to adjust the settings, but I would not recommend it if you like to point and shoot indoors. Without adjustments, at least 50% of my indoor shots turned out fuzzy. The best solution for those who have the camera is to adjust the EV setting as far negative as possible when inside. This will close the shutter faster and decrease the blur for many pictures.

On a side note, the camera takes great outdoor pictures. I am not a fan of digital zoom but the one on this camera actually does a great job.
