I just purchased a Pop-Up Shade which fits on the LCD screen. Sorry haven't tried it yet. You might try this.

I returned the camera for a Nikon brand with view finder. Much happier.

There is no really good solution to viewing LCD pics on this camera when taking daylight outdoor photos.
The LCD hood device can assist but is usually still not sufficient to solve the problem.
Some people report just setting the camera to its wide angle setting, take the picture aiming by "instinct", and then cropping the picture down in the computer to get what they want.
Others just hold one hand around the LCD to block the sun and get a faint visible image on the LCD that way.
Unfortunately, image review is just as difficult and requires turning your back to the sun and holding the camera in the shade of your body while simultaneously shielding the LCD with one hand.
There is no indication in the User Manual that any adjustment on the LCD brightness exists on this camera.
