My H2 rummbles quietly constantly while in any shooting mode, is this normal? It's only 3 months old!

It sounds like (pun) the camera is on constant-on autofocus mode. I think on some cameras this can be turned ON or OFF. It does use up some battery power when it is on, but of course, the advantage is, you don't have to wait for the camera to focus when you are ready to shoot.

Thanks, but I need to know if the DSC H2 should be totaly silent while running, because it makes this noise even while recording, and I'm sure that must reduce the sound quality somewhat. Also, will the whole camera overheat and crash eventually if this is not normal?

When u say recording do u mean photos, or movies? Recording a photo should be a second or less. But either way, if you are moving the camera, or the subject is moving, then wouldn't autofocus still be 'autofocusing'??
