why does the "steady shot" come on when its not being moved?

I tried to use the Burst, Multi, etc and other features but when I try to turn the dial to P, S, M, or any other listed feature on the dial, the "Steady Shot" signal comes on. I tried turning it off but even that doesn't work. I went as far as putting the camera on a table and a tripode and "Steady Shot" still appears. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Are you taking the shots in a low light situation? Even when you're being still, the warning can come on in darker photo situations. Are you still able to take photos? How are they coming out if you are? If you speed the shutter up, that also may reduce the effect. Setting a higher ISO setting will help as well. Good luck and happy shooting.

The little hand icon is not so much a Steady-shot indicator as a warning that the camera has selected a long exposure time and so shake could be a problem. It doesnt indicate that the Steady-shot feature is working and it will still come on if the camera is perfectly still. It's just a helpful warning.

Hope that helps.
