The D60, hands down. An SLR will always be better than a point and shoot, even an extended zoom model. First off, you have lens choices. Secondly, no shutter lag.

You're not really comparing apples to oranges here. If you want a more apt comparison, try comparing the Sony A100 to the Nikon D60. The Sony H50 uses the same processor that's in its dSLR models (with the exception of the new A900), so you shouldn't see a big difference in picture quality between the two. Also, the D60 is going to be considerably more money once you invest in the lenses, while the Sony H50 is going to stay the same price, because you don't have to invest in lenses. So, if lens versatility is for you, go with the D60, if you want the cheaper, all-in-one, option, go with the H50.

While it's true that the D60 will cost more, every penny is in the lens advantage. Nikkor lenses are truly superior and with a 50+ year legacy of lenses to choose from, you have a great cadre of glass to take some truly wonderful images. And while the H50 may use the same chip as the A series DSLR, it still has to deal with a certain amount of shutter delay, as well as limited flash capability.

Frankly, I think there are better ultrazoom options out there, but the H50 will take decent shots within it's limitations.
