What is the best camera for taking pictures of kids & that has a good shutter speed & stabilization?

I want to take pictures of my kids & need a camera that has a fast shutter speed. The one I currently have (FUJI) has a big delay and by the time it takes the picture my kids have already moved a coupleof times. I'm also interested in a camera that has stabilization due to kids moving all the time & ending up w/blurred photos. I also want a camera that takes movie clips so I don't have to use my video camera. Please let me know what you can recommend.

If you have a large budget I would suggest the Sony H5 because of its quick shutter speed and excellent image stablization. But it is a much bulkier camera then most and it might be a bit more power then you need.

Another Sony camera that is probably better fitted is the Sony W100 it has everything you are looking for plus more.

Check out the user reviews, they are both excellent cameras.

Good luck!

the Sony H5 has excellent movie quality but your problem with the blurred pictures due to kids moving wont be solved by the cameras image stabilization, this will only correct the shaking of your hand, if u want to freeze the image u will need to use a faster shutter speed which the H5 is really good at, if your problem is the time your camera takes tu focus before taking the pictures u will have to prefocus your picture (press the button halfway down)

I noticed this question was in with the SD800IS group. Are you looking for a larger, bulky camera? Then the options Joe and tito mentioned are good picks. You can also consider the Canon EOS or Rebel camera, depending on your budget and how much power you really want.

If you're looking for an ultracompact camera with fast shutter speed, natural flesh tone, strong flash, image stabilization, wide-angle lens, long battery life, good movie quality and ability to use large-capacity memory cards, the SD800IS is a good choice, too. If you were to try this camera out in a store, I'd suggest just putting it on auto, taking a picture of a person, and notice how responsive the camera is, and how amazing the image of the person appears. Very natural coloring. Great camera.
