Actually, being that this is a fixed lens, you wouldn't be looking for a telephoto, you'd be looking for a tele converter which essentially magifies the focal length of your existing H9 lens. Downsides are light loss by as much as 2 stop, loss of clarity, and "tubing" in the wide angle range.

in my mind, not really worth it.

The camera comes with an adapter/converter to purchase Sony's telephoto lens. Since this adapter will only fit to Sony's lens, I would assume that would be the only fit. I just purchased mine, and LOVE it! I've not had the problems the other consumers are reporting. (Low battery life, poor quality pics, sticky buttons, etc,)
