Question/Comment.

I would love a Rebel XTI but fear I'm not at that level, so I'm looking at this Sony D9 & D7 as well as a the Canon 570. Coming from the Canon SI 3.2 MP, I would love advice. I was concerned reading that you can't do much editing with the Sony. Is it that it's just not necessary or that it is limited? I only edit (other than creating slide shows etc.) to improve my pictures. I hate my pics with the SI 3.2 and just want something that gives an excellent pic, can do low light and actions shots for my grandkids. Comment...I've been to every camera review site on the web I think....and this is hands down the best. I am going to recommend to all of my friends and fellow realtors to come here when making decisions. (I also will be using this for real estate purposes). Face detection (9 point?) is huge and action shots. Do either of these fit the 'wide angle' class, have a grid screen, face detection or burst modes? Also things that I was hoping to get.
Thanks so much for this website, Carol

Granted, the jump to the dSLR level is a decent sized one, but dont underestimate yourself. Despite the rather steep learning curve, the entry level dSLR's (Canon 400D xti and the Nikon D40(x)) are very user friendly. I recently made the jump from my old Point and shoot to my nikon D40x and I love it. I would highly recommend that you do the same. But, still, if your hesitant, the Sony H9 is a fantastic camera that you wouldnt go wrong with. As for the photo editing, i see no reason the images from this camera would be any less editable in an editing program than the images from any other camera, maybe the limitation was a referance to in camera editing? As for grid screen, most cameras are equipt with that feature. Same with burst mode. As for face detection, this camera, according to Sony itself, has face detection "2" (la dee da :)).

Good luck picking out a camera and happy shooting :).
