Looking for a camera that I can use in low/changing light (music concerts from first 5 rows) without shutter lag and a fast FPS. Is the HX1 for me?

Thanks for looking at my question. I want to shoot preformers at concerts from the first few rows. I need a camera that I can use in low light at music concerts without a signifant shutter lag and fast frames per second (preformers move quick). I have a camera that I have to hold for ever before the shutter snaps. Can you give me a recommendation on a camera suited for this use.....Thank you!!

Point and shoot cameras have shutter lag. It's just the nature of the beast, Gary. And with point and shoot cameras, fast fps usually means lower resolution as the camera seeks to write to the card fast enough. If you want no shutter lag, and fast FPS the choice is clear ... a DSLR. If you're a Sony fan, that means the Alpha line.
