Memory sticks are storage devices for your pictures. As such, they don't need recharging, just moving of the pictures to your computer once full and then deleting the pics from your memory stick so you can take more pictures. The Sony does have a lithium ion battery that will need recharging from time to time, however. You simply stick it in the AC adapter and plug it in. Should recharge in about 90 minutes (make sure you leave it charging over night on the first charge, though. this will give you max battery capacity from the get go).

Actually, it's completely answered. But as the question was framed, you seemed to be asking if it was the camera that needed to be charged or the memory stick. Thus, I answered it was the camera that gets charged Now, if you want to know how many pictures you can take on a charged battery, that's another answer entirely. You should get about 190 shots with standard use. Course, that'll vary depending on how often the flash is used, how much you review pictures on the LCD, etc. Your mileage may vary.
