I'm sorry to tell you but that really sounds like a mechanical problem and I know how frustrating that can be. Honestly, you've probably knocked something lose. Your best bet would be to check with a nearby camera store etc. If your camera's new or recently purchased they might be able to help you out for free. Sorry I wish I could do more for you.

I doubt it'll be a freebie, Joel. Impact damage is easily seen and is outside the warranty coverage. This'll be one that has to be paid for. But it may not be that bad. Try turning it on and off several times. Remove the batteries and reset it through the setup menu. Try all the troubleshooting before you get the estimate. But don't force it. send it in and then at least you'll know how much it costs to repair.

Be advised, however, that since impact damage is not covered by warranty, it may cost more to repair than it is really worth. That is, unless it's an easy fix. But understand that the rule of thumb is that if the estimate for repair is north of 50% what you paid for it, you're better off taking that money and buying a newer and upgraded model.
