Sony Cybershot W200 Details

Editors' Comments

The Sony W200 refuses to back down when it comes to megapixels. You may have thought that 10 megapixels was enough. It's more than enough, but Sony disagrees, and have crammed an outrageous 12.1 megapixel CCD into the W200. It's overkill, to be sure, but the numbers game is what draws people's attention. This slick ultracompact can produce extra large photos and prints, if that's what you're interested in, but we can't help but feel like a line has to be drawn somewhere. 12.1 megapixels isn't any better than 5 megapixels quality-wise, it just means you'll get a larger photo, and how big do you really need your photos to be? The slightly less hyperbolic Sony W-90 uses an 8 megapixel sensor, and can be had for about a hundred dollars less than the W200. Check it out.
