Quality, Speed, and preferably under $300.. any one have any suggestions?

I need a camera that has great quality, and speed for very fast shots! BUT i also need a camera that can withstand VERY hot and cold temps, because of the places i plan on traveling to. Any suggestions? I mean, it'd be nice if i could stay in the #00 dollar (or less) range.. but if not, its still worth it!

You should also take a look at the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW.

Pentax is a good choice if you are traveling to very hot and cold places. Otherwise Olympus will be more than enough for the purpose and according to me, have a better picture quality.
