how do I turn off the volume on my camera for when I am just taking pictures?

I don't like hearing the beeping every time I turn my camera on and off and I don't like it when it makes noise when I shoot pics.

This camera is new so I am not sure of its exact controls, but I'm willing to bet it is very similar to the other Sony W-models. Try this:
-Put camera in Playback mode (same mode you use to review photos you've taken)
-Push Menu
-You should see a row of icons down the left of the screen. Use the arrow to scroll to the bottom one, which will bring up a menu called Setup 2
-The first option is called Beep; here you can choose Off to turn off the camera sounds.

Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll keep looking.

Brenda I have a DSC-P72 and it does not have that menu...can you possibly tell how to turn off that annoying sound when I turn it on.

Hi Steves,
Since yours is a DSC model it is just a little different. Put the camera in Playback mode and push Menu as described above. You should see four pictures appear on the left of the screen- a camera (for Camera Setup), a thing that kind of looks like a memory (for Memory Stick Menu), and then a menu 1 and a menu 2. Go to Menu 1 (third icon down) and scroll down to Beep. You can choose On, Off or Shutter. Shutter is the sound it makes when you fire a shot; since you don't want the sound when you turn it on, try choosing Off and see if it solves it. Let me know if that doesn't help.

Hi! How do I turn it off the volume for the Sony T-20? There is a volume button during play back mode (arrow going down) but for some reason it doesn't completely mute the sounds or change it at all for that matter! Thanks in advance!

i hav a sony DSC-W120 super steady shot and to turn off the beep, you have to press the home button...a serie of icons will appear at the top of the screen...scroll to setting wich is a toll box icon...then choose main settings and it is the first option called beep...turn it off...

to turn the volume up...you press the playback button and on the bottom of the screen you will see volume written with a down arrow on its left...press the down arrow and then adjust the volume with the left and right arrows.

I have no clue how to turn up the volume on my Kodak EasyShare C813 digital camera. When I want to watch a video that i just recorded, there is no sound, any help?

Hey, I have a normal Sony Digital Camera. I'm on kidzbop and they declined all of my videos. They say it has no audio. I was sure it would put the audio on for me when I upload them, but it didn't. I've tried everything. And I don't want to reset it because it has all of my parents favorite pic's! I need to film something but I need to film it today! PLEASE HELP!

Hey its me again, I just got the camera out for a minute and turned it on. And now the screen is just all black. But it still shows the battery gage and the memory gage. I pointed it at the computer and still nothing. I tried wiping off the thing, and, guess what.......... NOTHING! Help me!
