Unreliable camera, bad support (Marshall Shapiro - 7/2/08)

movement (P. Gannon - 9/28/06)

I love the idea of using my Pentax lenses with this camera. But I want clear, sharp images. The biggest problem is with studio lights. read more

The Pentax *istD functions beautifully (Megapixel.net - 1/4/05)

Top-of-the-line image quality, a remarkably small body, and good performance earn the Pentax *ist D a very positive review. Relatively minor complaints include the awkward 4-way switch on the back and Pentax's decision not to include remote control software for studio artists. read original review

The *ist D combines rich features and excellent image quality into a compact and affordable package (Steve's Digicams - 1/5/04)

The Pentax *ist D's compact size, light weight, and excellent viewfinder make it a pleasure to use. Image quality is very good, though users may wish to alter some of the default settings, which can yield somewhat bland color and saturation. Novice users will appreciate the *ist D's simple auto mode. read original review

It offers excellent (but very soft) photo quality (DC Resource - 12/17/03)

Low noise levels, "top-notch" performance, and easy operation make the Pentax *ist D an excellent digital SLR. On the downside, its JPEG images are very soft, though this problem can be solved by shooting in RAW mode. The *ist D's compatibility with AA batteries is a big plus. read original review
