Editor's Review

As far as budget models go, Canon seems to have found a nice balance between price and quality with the ELPH 115. The ELPH 115 uses a 16 megapixel 1/2.3" CCD that produces some pretty decent images and video considering the price tag. There are some features missing, but that's to be expected with a budget model. The 115 does include, however, adjustments for exposure and white balance and several scene modes. Speed isn't an asset though, with a continuous mode of less than one shot per second.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 115 Reviews

Canon PowerShot ELPH 115 Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Canon digital cameras are well known for their high quality optics, reliability and convenience of use. One of the largest digital camera manufacturers in the world today, Canon has earned a reputation for making some of the finest digital cameras and digital SLRs available on the market. Canon cameras are undoubtedly on the camera wish list of anyone that desires a high quality camera. So when one looks at the PC Magazine's winners for the Reader's Choice Award for Service and Reliability, it should be no surprise that the top spot is often taken by Canon. It also should come as no surprise that their cameras are reviewed very highly on a consistent basis.

While Canon is not generally considered to be a brand that's cheap, Canon digital cameras have achieved the status of best buy. This is an indication that you receive great value for the extra money. Recently, Canon begun producing a few models that are more inexpensive, while offering respectable results. The Canon PowerShot A1200 is one such example. Unlike many other models at this low price point, the A1200 has a small optical viewfinder that makes it easier to shoot outdoors as well as AA batteries.

Other Canon digital cameras have earned high marks across the board as well, such as the cheapest Powershot A series, the SD or ELPH series compact point-and-shoots, and the Rebel consumer dSLRs like the T4i. Solid design, ease of use, and high picture quality are things you can expect when you buy a Canon camera. Some of the best Canon digital cameras include the Canon enthusiast compacts you will find in the G and S series cameras. These models have taken over the advanced digital camera market for a few years now, appealing to both amateurs and professionals requiring something pocketable. For example, the Canon PowerShot G15 boasts a swiveling LCD screen, a 12 megapixel sensor and a very fast lens ideal for low light photography.

Lately, Canon has been ramping up the specifications across its mid and high-end models by adding features like GPS and WiFi. These better specifications differentiate the upper models from lower-end cameras, but mean that they also have a higher price tag. With so many features you can find and so many models available, it's always in your best interest to do your research and read Canon digital camera reviews and ratings. Experts recommend reading reviews from users like you to find out if a specific model is right for you.
