Editor's Review

Canon makes some high quality compacts, and the ELPH 340 sits right in line with our exceptions. It uses a 1/2.3” sensor and f3.6 to 7 lens, which is about average for the price point. What's worth mentioning, however, is the nice 10.5 fps continuous shooting mode for action shots. HD videos are recorded at 30 fps in 1920x1280. It also includes wi-fi for remote uploads and easy sharing and a sleek and stylish exterior.

Canon digital cameras are well known for having high quality optics, as well as being dependable and simple to use. Canon has earned a reputation for creating some of the finest digital cameras and digital SLRs that you can buy, and is one of the leading digital camera manufacturers in today's world. Canon cameras are undoubtedly on the camera wish list of any consumer that wants a top quality camera. So when one takes a lot at the PC Magazine's winners for the Reader's Choice Award for Service and Reliability, it shouldn't be a shock that the top honors are often won by Canon. It also should come as no surprise that their cameras are reviewed very highly on a consistent basis.

While Canon is not generally considered to be a brand that's cheap, Canon digital cameras have earned the status of best buy. This is an indication that you receive great value for the extra money. Recently, Canon begun producing several models that are less expensive, without sacrificing quality. The Canon PowerShot A1200 is one such camera. The A1200 has a small optical viewfinder which makes it easier to shoot outdoors as well as AA batteries, as opposed to most other models that can are available at this low of a price.

The Powershot A series, the SD or ELPH series compact point-and-shoots, and the Rebel consumer dSLRs such as the T4i are just a few examples of Canon digital cameras that have highly praised across the board. Durability, ease of use, and high picture quality are things you can expect if you buy a Canon camera. The Canon enthusiast compacts you will find in the G and S series cameras are among the finest Canon digital cameras you can buy. The advanced digital camera market has been dominated by these models for quite some time, being great for anyone who is in need of something pocketable, regardless of their level of experience. For instance, the Canon PowerShot G15 boasts an LCD screen that swivels, and a 12 megapixel sensor. It's also ideal for low light photography due to its very fast lens.

GPS and WiFi are features that Canon has been adding to its mid and high-end models recently to keep their cameras specifications right on the cutting edge. Although this separates them more clearly from models on the lower end of the spectrum, this also means that these cameras are more expensive. When buying a Canon digital camera, experts recommend that you thoroughly read Canon digital camera reviews and ratings and consult other users in order to pick the right model.
