Editor's Review

The 530 HS actually has a lower-resolution sensor than its spiritual predecessor, the 510 HS. This change is ostensibly to increase the camera's performance at high ISO, and it remains among the best on the market. The same 12x zoom and 3.2-inch touchscreen make an appearance here, and Canon has also included an apparently-frustrating built-in WiFi. Touch screen issues once again plague this model, with laggy controls spoiling the user experience. It's also probably more expensive than it should be for this feature-set, so we recommend looking elsewhere for a travel compact.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 530 HS Reviews

Canon PowerShot ELPH 530 HS Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Top quality optics, reliability, and simplicity of use are just some of the reasons that customers choose Canon digital cameras. Canon has become widely recognized for producing some of the best digital cameras and digital SLRs that you can buy, and is one of the largest manufacturers of digital cameras in the world today. Consumers in search of top quality cameras usually have at least a few Canon cameras on their wish list. Then it should come as no surprise that Canon has frequently won PC Magazine's Reader's Choice Award for Service and Reliability and camera models are consistently given top marks in reviews.

Canon is not generally a cheap brand at all. Despite this, Canon digital cameras have earned the best buy status. This should show you that the higher price tag is well worth it. In the recent past, Canon has introduced several types that sell for less, while providing respectable results. One example is the Canon PowerShot A1200. Unlike many other models you'd find at this price, the A1200 has a small optical viewfinder that makes is ideal for outdoor shooting as well as AA batteries.

A lot of other Canon digital cameras have also earned high praise across the board, including the cheapest Powershot A series, the SD or ELPH series compact point-and-shoots, and the Rebel consumer dSLRs such as the T4i. The majority of Canon camera buyers and fans are drawn to the brand as a result of the the solid design, simplicity of use and the high picture quality offered by these digital cameras. Some of the best Canon digital cameras include the Canon enthusiast compacts to be found in the S and G series cameras. These cameras have dominated the advanced digital camera market for a few years now, being great for anyone who wants something pocketable, whether they be professional or amateur. For example, the Canon PowerShot G15 boasts an LCD screen that swivels, and a 12 megapixel sensor. It is also perfect for low light photography due to its very fast lens.

GPS and WiFi are features that Canon has been adding to its mid and high-end models recently to keep their cameras specifications right on the cutting edge. Although this separates them more clearly from models on the lower end of the spectrum, this also means that these cameras are more expensive. With so many features you can find and so many models available, it's always in your best interest to do your research and read Canon digital camera reviews and ratings. Experts recommend reading reviews from users like you to find out if a specific model is right for you.
