Editor's Review

The 530 HS actually has a lower-resolution sensor than its spiritual predecessor, the 510 HS. This change is ostensibly to increase the camera's performance at high ISO, and it remains among the best on the market. The same 12x zoom and 3.2-inch touchscreen make an appearance here, and Canon has also included an apparently-frustrating built-in WiFi. Touch screen issues once again plague this model, with laggy controls spoiling the user experience. It's also probably more expensive than it should be for this feature-set, so we recommend looking elsewhere for a travel compact.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 530 HS Reviews

Canon PowerShot ELPH 530 HS Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Top quality optics, dependability, and simplicity of use are just some of the reasons that customers choose Canon digital cameras. One of the most successful makers of digital cameras in the world today, Canon has attained a reputation for making some of the best digital cameras and digital SLRs available on the market. Consumers that desire top quality cameras usually have at least a few Canon cameras on their shortlist. Then it should come as no surprise that Canon has won PC Magazine's Reader's Choice Award for Service and Reliability repeatedly and camera models are reviewed quite favorably on a regular basis.

While Canon isn't by any means known as cheap brand, Canon digital cameras have achieved the best buy status. This is an indication that you get great value for the extra money. Within the past few years, Canon has introduced several types that are more inexpensive, while providing results that are quite respectable. One example is the Canon PowerShot A1200. The A1200 has a small optical viewfinder which makes it easier to shoot outdoors as well as AA batteries, as opposed to most other models at this low price point.

The Powershot A series, the SD or ELPH series compact point-and-shoots, and the Rebel consumer dSLRs such as the T4i are just a few examples of Canon digital cameras that have earned high marks across the board. The majority of Canon camera customers and fans are attracted by the quality of the design, convenience and the amazing quality of picture these digital cameras offer. The Canon enthusiast compacts you will find in the G and S series cameras are some of the best Canon digital cameras available. The advanced digital camera market has been dominated by these models for quite some time, being great for anyone who is in need of something pocketable, regardless of their level of experience. For instance, the Canon PowerShot G15 boasts a swiveling LCD screen, a 12 megapixel sensor and an extremely fast lens ideal for low light photography.

Lately, Canon has been ramping up the specifications across its mid and high-end models by adding features like GPS and WiFi. These better specifications differentiate the upper models from lower-end cameras, but mean that they also have a higher price tag. When buying a Canon digital camera, experts recommend that you thoroughly read Canon digital camera reviews and ratings and consult other users in order to pick the right model.
