Canon PowerShot G2
Editor's Review
The Canon PowerShot G2 is a very capable 4-megapixel camera, and offers a less-expensive alternative to the popular G3 and G5 models. Though the Canon G2 has fewer advanced features and a less powerful zoom than the G3 and G5, its lower price and outstanding performance make it a great value. The G2 is not without fault, however: A small percentage of owners complain about its slow start-up and focus time.

Canon PowerShot G2 Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

I bought this camera second hand and followed the very good reviews this camera got. I own several Nikon SLR's for travel photography and wanted this camera to experiment at low cost, because it has all the features of a good SLR. I was astonished by the very high photo quality. I can only recommend it. It is an excellent camera. Does the perfect one exist?

The viewfinder doesn't line up with the lens, and the LCD screen is hard to see in bright light conditions, so you're shooting blind. It is extremely slow from when you push the button and when the photo is taken, and from when the photo is taken and when the camera is ready to take another shot. I've missed a lot of great shots because of this. I'd recommend this camera only to still-life photographers.
