The S110 is a disappointingly modest upgrade to the very good S100 and it may not do enough to really differentiate itself from the rest of the pack. The camera still sports the same 12 megapixel sensor and 24-120mm f2.0-5.9 lens, but trades the GPS for wireless capabilities and a touchscreen. The touchscreen is similar to the one seen on the T4i, multitouch and all, but we were really hoping for upgrades that affect the camera's image quality and performance rather than other features. Compared with Sony's RX100 or even the just-announced Fujifilm XF1, the S110 is looking rather pedestrian.

Canon PowerShot S110
Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users
Canon digital cameras are well renowned for their high quality optics, reliability and ease of use. Canon has gained a reputation for manufacturing some of the best digital cameras and digital SLRs that you can buy, and is one of the largest digital camera manufacturers in today's world. People looking for high quality cameras often have at least a few Canon cameras on their wish list. Sure enough, Canon has repeatedly won PC Magazine's Reader's Choice Award for Service and Reliability and camera models are consistently given top marks in reviews.
While Canon is not a traditionally cheap brand, Canon digital cameras have earned the best buy status. This means that you receive great value for the extra money. In the recent past, Canon has introduced a few models that sell for less, without sacrificing quality. One such camera is the Canon PowerShot A1200. Unlike many other models at this low price point, the A1200 has a small optical viewfinder that makes shooting outdoors easy as well as AA batteries.
A lot of other Canon digital cameras have also earned high praise across the board, including the cheapest Powershot A series, the SD or ELPH series compact point-and-shoots, and the Rebel consumer dSLRs such as the T4i. The majority of Canon camera buyers and enthusiasts are drawn to the brand as a result of the the durable design, simplicity of use and the incredible picture quality offered by these digital cameras. Some of the best Canon digital cameras include the Canon enthusiast compacts to be found in the S and G series cameras. These cameras have overwhelmed the advanced digital camera market for a few years now, being great for anyone who is in the market for something pocketable, regardless of if they are amateur or professional. The Canon PowerShot G15, for instance, has a swiveling LCD screen, and a 12 megapixel sensor. It's also perfect for low light photography because of its very fast lens.
GPS and WiFi are features that Canon has been adding to its mid and high-end models recently to keep their cameras specifications right on the cutting edge. These better specifications differentiate the upper models from lower-end cameras, but mean that they also have a higher price tag. When buying a Canon digital camera, experts recommend that you thoroughly read Canon digital camera reviews and ratings and consult other users in order to pick the right model.
