Hey! You should know that Fuji has released a newer version of this product: the Fujifilm FinePix AV200.

Fuji FinePix AV100

C+
We've given the AV100 a grade of C+.

Editor's Review

The AV200 has replaced the AV100. Here's what we had to say about the AV100 when it was released in March 2010:

The Fuji FinePix AV100 would be just another light-featured ultra-compact -- except it has 720p HD video. Even as HD video becomes, shall we say, more egalitarian, it's still surprising to see an HD-ready camera with a sub-$100 MSRP. The other noteworthy feature is an ISO range up to 3200, which should produce some horrific images, but we guess it can't hurt to have it there. Judging on reader comments, it seems to perform reasonably well for a $100 camera, but we've also heard a number of complaints about its reliability (take a look at the comments section below). Can't say we're surprised.

The camera freezes in bright outdoor settings. also the butten works every other click to record/take a pic. this camera is very unreliable.

Very happy to carry in pocket or handbag (Mon — 05/28/2010)
I only bought this camera to carry in my pocket or handbag for those days when I don't want to carry my large Canon Digital SLR. around. I love it. Takes good shots in low level lighting & without a flash. I think the quality of the pics is very good considering the price. I did not expect this little gem to be as good as it is. For what I want it is excellent. It is also getting more difficult to find a camera that uses AA batteries. This makes it a truly handy travellers camera great for those holiday shots you may otherwise miss out on. I tend to loose battery chargers or leave them at home. With AA batteries, you can get replacements cheaply just about anywhere.

Absolutely worthy of your money (Fuji-fun — 05/10/2010)
I have Fuji finepix 4700 9 years ago and Fuji finepix f20 3 years ago, and yesterday, I got my 3ed finepix AV110 (same as AV100, except blue body color). After test shots, I`m very satisfied the effects that this camera have. The picture quality was good, especially with lower ISOs(ISO100-400): lower picture noises; and bright outdoor colors (use P model with -1/3 exposure); reasonable sharpness; nice skin tone. The most remarkable feature is HD (720p) movie. It recorded very nice picture quality movie with very little noise. But, sound recorded wasn`t that good. Anyway, with $89CND, what do you expected?
