Fuji FinePix F410

Editor's Review

The easy-to-use Fuji FinePix F410 delivers great colors and good daytime images. With an all metal body and a square shape similar to the Minolta DiMAGE Xt, the F410 is a great "take-anywhere" camera that produces images that should please the novice photographer. Its high price compared to other 3-megapixel cameras may dissuade some buyers, however.

Fuji F410 (Arnie — 11/04/2007)

A great camera. Easy to use and it has been everywhere with me, in my pocket mostly as it small size and metal casing allowed it to do. It has taken some great pictures for me over the years.
It died on me yesterday when taking my 9,431 picture with it. Without having had any problems with it previously. With prices as they are at the moment I will not have it repaired but will look for an upgrade in the Fuji range. I hope when I find a new camera it will be as good and take at least as many pictures.

Good while it lasted. (CHRISTINE — 11/02/2006)

I have had the same problem as mentioned in previous reviews.Considering it was only used for holidays this does not seem a good lifespan for a camera. Purple horizontal lines started showing on the pictures last week while on holiday.I had to go and buy another camera - not a Fuji!!!

Great Pictures but only lasts 2 years! (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

I loved this camera as it was so portable, easy to use and took great pictures. However, like everyone else who has ever had one mine has just died after 2 years! All pictures now come out hideously over exposed rendering the thing useless. That's not to mention the replacement power adaptor I had to have almost immediately after purchase and the subsequent new battery. How can FUJI foist such substandard rubbish on us? Don't buy one.

Excellent Camera (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

Excellent camera that is simple to use and takes really great photographs. However, it only lasted one year before it stopped working. Bill for repair 96. After another two yrs it's packed in again. Estimate 86, I'm now looking elsewhere for a more reliable camera. It's a real pity as I loved the thing but I'm not going to keep giving Fuji 90 every so often to keep it going. Fuji, you just lost another customer.

F410 was great while it worked??? (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

Had this F410 nearly 2 years now - it is dead - bought a new battery - still not working! It has already been fixed once under warranty -different problem - photos taken outside turned out all white? Now warranty has run out and Fuji tell me minimum repair cost is 89.90?

it seems to be have been said so many times before (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

just 2 years of ownership and kaput - at least Fuji admitted usuing sub-standard parts and issued an advisory ... but getting any joy from Fuji in Bedford is proving to be extremely difficult. Anyone else having problems with Fuji UK? I too would avoid another Fuji Product - this camera has cost me a fortune in replacement mains adaptor / spare batteries / incompatible xD card / postage .... sorry Fuji, you just lost another good customer

Worked very well till... Yeah, so you've heard. (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

It was a greeat camera, worked well for me for around 2 years. And then the lights on the on/off slide thing blew and the lens stopped returning. I dunno...

Oh yeah, it's not very good for taking pictures with dim light too. Unless you flash them, of course.

Used to work fantastic, until one fine day .... *kaput* (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

This was a great point and shoot camera and served me well for the 2 years it was in my possession. Just a couple of days back, the screen would display purple streaks that would change to red when AF is on. Pictures captured appear all white. Fuji apparently released an advisory for this model, but strangely my serial number was not on their list of "faulty" units. It sure seemed darn faulty today. For the price I paid, I expected this to last me at least a couple of years longer. I'd definitely not touch another Fuji again even with a 10-foot pole.

Worked great until it broke (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

Had this camera since 2003, then stopped working, no repair shops will even look at it.

In for repairs again! (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

Second time in 3 years - 2 years ago to fix the Iris and now the lens has gone. Previous reports seem to substantiate these problems. Next time it goes in the bin!

Great traveler and good photos outdoors (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

The F401 has traveled extensively and always performed well as a point and shoot. disappointed that it is now dead. Friend bought one at same time and his died 6 months ago, so I question its reliability. However I'm willing to keep using it if someone can tell me where to send it for repair/replacement.

Too many repairs (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

When it works its great. However it had a problem with the lens becoming stuck - had to be repaired. Now it only works intermittently. Looks like a sensor issue, definitely electronic. Not robust enough, considering the easy life its had. Would not recommend at all!

Love it! (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

Not sure why the previous reviewer has had to take their f410 to get it repaired so often...what exactly are they using it for?? I use mine most weekends and have done since i bought it and haven't had any trouble with it...quality camera

Takes very good pictures but needs repairs too often (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

While we love the ease of using this camera and consider the quality of the images very good, it has had to be returned to the shop twice in less than 3 years. In both cases the problems (internal electronics) could not be fixed and we were given new F410's as replacements. We won't buy this camera again.
