Here's another bargain model from Fuji (though it's technically been replaced by the JV200). The selling point here is the 720p HD video (even the $99 Fuji model has that feature this year), and aside from that it looks like a standard $130 camera. An ISO range up to 3200 is also in the specs, but the noise in those images will end up being so high that it's almost not worth mentioning. The J series has had some durability problems in the past, so let's hope that the JV offshoot is solid.

I purchased finepix jv100 in May-2011. The trouble started soon. Now when I wanted to start it , a messege is shown PROTECTED CARD,PL let me know why this is shown and it does not work. my e-mail address is salim_awan2007@yahoo.com. thanks

It sounds like your SD card has write protection turned on. Is there a little switch on the side of the SD card? Switch it the other way, then put it back in the camera and see if the issue is resolved. That switch helps prevent accidental deletions from the card, but you can't add any new photos while the write protection is on either.

i have a message on my camera that keeps saying to turn off the camera and turn on again..i have done that but the message keeps coming back on

I purchased this camera in January, 2011, and by March, 2011 it was broken. The LCD screen cracked, and when I sent it back in for the 1 year warranty, I was told that there was "impact damage" not covered by the warranty. However, the camera was inside of a padded case, and sustained no impact damage. I simply turned the camera on, and it was broken.
I am very dissatisfied with this product, as well as Fuji's customer service. I had another Finepix from 2005-2011 that I loved, that was very sturdy, and took great photos. This one is obviously overly fragile and poorly made. It seems as thought the quality has decreased over the years. I will not be buying another Fuji.

have blur photos to me..I have a Fuji finepixs 2800 old but perfect photos.

it's likely the way the new camera focuses. there may be a different focus setting in the setup menu more to your liking. but one thing you should do is give the manual a good read so you understand just how this model was designed to focus.

got the camera as a present, took it out at the christmas table and it had a crack on the screen. brought it back to where it was bought and they told me i'd dropped it, but hadn't. there's not a mark on it anywhere else, obviously hasn't fallen. what do i do now?

Talk to the person who gave it to you and get their credit card company involved. Clearly they're not wanting to take responsibility for it. But strictly speaking, it isn't covered by warranty.

According to the fair trading act, you are legally entitled to a refund, credit or exchange. Contact your local consumer affairs office for additional advice/info. Communicate via writing (registered post) and you will have the matter sorted out to your advantage, it just may take a little time. I strongly encourage you to do so. Gook luck.

If the camera is brand new, than likely you didn't give the battery enough time to charge initially. Charge it overnight, deplete it, charge overnight, deplete. recharge again. Now it should hold an entire charge. If not, then considering it's brand new, I'd return it for a replacement.

This Christmas present camera has gone mad! It turns itself off & on all the time and the selector wheel might as well be from a roulette machine, seemingly picking settings at random. It constantly wants the clock setting and it beeps farts & whistles while in my pocket. It turns itself off mid - uploading using usb lead to computer. Other than that it is fine. Help!

First thing I would do, is to go to Fuji's website and check for a firmware update. A camera's firmware is only as up to date as the day it was built and a new one may have been released that fixes any problems that have cropped up since.
Secondly, you can try resetting the camera. This will reload everything back to the factory default settings. If both don't solve the issue, then it may just be a lemon. Hope you have a gift receipt.

Sir, i purchased this camera the battery of camera has down I took the charger put battery in the charger charger starts to blink after 2 hrs I took the battery and insert in to the camera battery symbol come and camera get off, pls tell me a discharge battery how much take time to charge.

The first few times you want to charge it over night, deplete it and repeat. AFter that, it should charge up in a few hours. You deplete it by using it.

I have had the camera for a month. I use it daily to take photos for my Ebay business. The battery has been a problem since Day 1. I charge it over night. The first 4 pictures I take after that don't appear and then the battery goes dead. I re-insert the battery and I can sometimes take 20 photos before the battery goes dead again. Manual says it should go for 300 photos. I have tried to call Best Buy where it was purchased to see if it is user error but they don't pick up the phone.

ok, so I bought this camera through Dell, as I had a Promotional gift card. The $50 balance was totally worth it. It take really clear pictures, it is very easy to use and the photos come out looking pro.
