Fuji FinePix V10
Editor's Review
Fuji tests the waters of the convergence market with a digital camera that lets you play three "retro" video games on its massive 3" LCD screen. The 3" LCD screen dominates the back of the Fuji V10, and it is one of several newer cameras to boast such an impressive display. The camera itself isn't much larger than the screen, packing the functions into a few simple buttons. It's a clever design, and while the three included video games probably won't hold your interest forever, the Fuji V10 has a slick design and construction that make it an attractive choice.

Fuji FinePix V10 Comments & Questions (write your own!)
Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser and reset it. Upgrade the firmware if available. Absent that, you may be looking at a repair, but with it's age, it's probably cheaper to get a new camera, especially considering your time window.
You can also try darntoothysam.com/servlet/S... They offer lcd replacement screens and repair.
I was googling the same LCD problem and found this page. I've not yet taken my V10 apart. However, have you seen any marking or number on the LCD screen that you took out? If you still have it, please let me know. I might be able to find a company who carry the LCD. I have degree in electrical engineering and I fixed the LCD on my Garmin C330 GPS this way. Please give me as many details on the LCD as possible. Or you can email (maxchlin@aim.com) me some picture s of the LCD. In addition, I would like to know where did you get the screwdriver to unscrew the "Y"-shape screw. Thanks.
PS: When you email me, please have "V10-LCD" in your subject line.
Apart from buying a separate charger, the only suggestion that one can think of, though it sounds silly, is to make sure that the camera is not turned on during charging.
Probably buying a separate charger is the solution. If you want to try, <a href="stores.ebay.com/ENJOY-PARTN... advertisement in eBay</a> sells it for $9.99.
It is probably just a standard cord, but just to make sure can you tell me what model camera you have? Then I'll be able to find you a link to the cord, or tell you what to look for. Most USBs are standard but I just want to make sure we are on the same page before I go pointing you to something that won't work! =)

2. To get what you want, log on to pccables.com
... . click Camera Cables on the left hand column
. in the new window that appears, scroll down until you see Fuji
. V10 cable is found on the fourth line from the bottom of the Fuji
cables listed.
The V10 uses a standard USB cable that is widely available. Many cel phones and cameras use the exact same cable that your camera uses so all you should have to do is carry the camera into your local electronics store, camera store or department store and tell the clerk you want to get a replacement cable.
It shouldn't cost any more than $20 or so and don't fall for anyone telling you how much better the gold plated ones are... it's digital information and the benefits of the gold plated connections are highly over rated.
If you don't happen to find the USB cord for your camera you can always get a USB card reader and just plug that into your computer and save some battery life for your camera. One of these can cost between $15 and $50 depending on what features you have. Keep in mind that you don't really need any features other than being able to use an xD card (which is not very standard so don't be surprised if you don't find any of them in the $15 range).

I was surprised to see a number of reviews on this site disappointed with this camera, so I had to register to give my feedback.
In such a small package this an awesome camera. We've had a few other Point n Shoot digital cameras and this is by the far the best so far. The colors are rich and vibrant and in good daylight the pictures are remarkably sharp. With good daylight coming though windows it also produces great natural light shots inside if you turn off the flash. With the flash the pictures are ok, but the flash tends to wash out subjects with a few feet.
Pros: great looking pictures from a pocket sized camera
Cons: slow reaction when you push the shutter button, lack of creative options that you'd get on more feature rich cameras (no long shutter exposures times, aperture or shutter speed control etc - but then this is a point n shoot)

I really hate this camera. My previous camera (this camera was purhcased to replace) had less megapixles but took a THOUSAND more times better pictures. This gives you very fuzzy, blurry, and pixelated results. Stupid me for not printing out my pictures until a year after purchasing and realizing that the quality of the photos was horrible.

I bought my camera because my Olympus died over the holiday weekend. I needed to get another camera, because the very next weekend my children were going to the shore for their very first time.
After getting a 512 XD Card and charging my battery ALL night, we finally get to the ocean where I am able to take about 100 pictures before my battery dies.
When I get home to review those pictures, 1/2 of them turn out where they weren't blackened or fuzzy. I was furious and took my camera back to the store for return, they wouldn't and simply told me that I had it on the wrong setting. Fine, they "fixed" it.
For several months, heck why not say an entire year I've been putting up with these fuzzy photos, blackened photos—just trashy photos in general.
I went to my husbands graduation from Basic Training and not a SINGLE picture turned out from his graduation. I have nothing to show from him and his time in Basic Training. When I went back several weeks for his AIT Graduation, the same thing happened. I was and still am greatly annoyed at the quality of the photos.
Then when I wanted to get a second battery, because I do take 10x's more photos hoping to get at least 1/3 of good photos, I couldn't find my battery. I took the camera and the booklet all over to stores that sold camera supplies and no one had the battery in stock or knew if they had it. Finally one day, Best Buy had my battery. $50 dollars later, I had my second battery. It doesn't end there. I fully recharged it, took my kids to the beach the second time. Took 300 photos on my first battery, tried putting in my second battery and it was a shade too small and the camera wouldn't accept the battery. I had spent that much money on a battery that I was told to buy by their (Fuji) booklet and representative. So now I have a battery that doesn't work with my camera and Best Buy can't return it because I had opened it.
This camera has been a pain in my you know what and I can't wait until the day I have enough money saved up to get the camera that I REALLY want.

Ok having read a shed load of reviews on various different digital cameras (I needed to upgrade my one btw to take pics this xmas). I found that the highest scoring average was the Fuji v10. With its stylish body I got the funky orange one. Its all metal casing and ergonomical design.
As a creative person by profession I was abit dissappointed with the quality of the pictures it took. Even at the highest setting and using a tripod the images still didn't come out sharp enough. Its as if theres a default dithering to cancel out the noise which many digital camera's produce. But then again this is sub £150 camera which is very compact.
I should of spent an extra £80 or so and got the Nikon 7100. My advice is don't be fooled with the slick design it doesn't mean it produces great pictures. But cor dont it look sexy in its brushed metal casing :-D

This camera has a fantastic screen that impresses all who see it. Its ability to take pictures in dark places is phenominal. I am always able to get a clear picture in almost pitch black places. There are many features that are easy to use and not confusing. Overall, this camera is a nine. It's not a 10 because I have not printed any photos yet so I can't accurately determine it's printing capibilities.

I was very excited when I first heard of its slick design and fully 3" display... and of course the arcades that can satisfy your boredom for some time... but in the long run I found out that its picture quality wasn't that impressive at all... however I recommend it if your not that serious and just want to have fun with your camera though....

being new to all this digital camera stuff it took me some time before parting with my hard earned cash. so many camera`s on the market , i was just about to buy when the sales man brought out the v10 and started raving on about it so after a good look and plenty of questions later i was the proud owner of a new fuji v10.
it had many of the features of other cameras but what impressed me the most was the ability to take great pictures in low light and make them look natural without having the nasty flash.
