Fujifilm's S4000 crams a huge 30x zoom lens into a $279 package. Judging from the popularity of past S-series models, this huge zoom, low-cost combo is popular with consumers even if it doesn't always produce great results. Based on our past experience with the S-series, we're betting that users will find some gripes with image quality and performance, though the S4000 does come in a larger, redesigned chassis. Still, for some folks, it'll be tough to argue with such an enormous zoom range for that price.

We are not big fans of Fujifilm's cheap superzooms. They don't feel well built, and don't operate particularly well. They like cheap point and shoots with enormous zoom lenses. It's the cheapest camera with a comparable-sized lens, but we'd advise you to spend your money elsewhere.
