Considering Kodak's dodgy reputation with cameras lately, the M341 probably isn't a smart choice. Kodak introduces their "Smart Capture" feature here, an intelligent auto mode that recognizes scenes and adjusts camera settings on the fly. Other than that, however, the M341 is unremarkable and early user reviews suggest that it's prone to breaking.

I lost the cord for my m341 so i ordered an usb cord on amazon. granted its been awhile since i have used the camera but I thought I took the usb cord plugged it into the wall outlet thing and it would charge,isn't there supposed to be a light that comes on? It blinked green about 2-4 times then red then nothing. can anyone help me? is it maybe the cord? thanks

This seems to be a common problem with older digital cameras. You're best off purchasing a newer model rather than trying to repair the camera. It will probably cost more to repair than the camera's worth.

Heres what it does when I insert the memory card.

I cick Ok.
"Formatting will delete everything on memory card"
I click Ok again.

and it goes back in the beginning. I did that for almost an hour and nothing happens. Just the same questions.

Actually, it's more likely that it's Windows. Your OS has a power saving feature that cuts off the power to your USB plugs. All you need to do is go into your hardware manager (r/c my computer, properties, device manager) and then disable the USB power saver feature. Also, try a different USB cable.

my m341 has decided to stop working!!! i turn it on and it opens and closes straight away, not happy at all, only used it a few times, not happy KODAK, goodbye to you from me!!

It's likely your battery is either defective, depleted, or your battery contacts are just plain dirty. Which happens. I'd try the easy things first - clean the contacts, change the battery, etc. If that doesn't cut it, then it may need repair. Is it still under warranty? If you only used it a few times, your battery may just be dead.

when i quikly press the buttons before it closes i can see on the screen the battery indicator wich says fully charged, i have also fully charged it and it still doesnt work mate.

I had JUST got back from my grandpas grave and was taking pictures of the grave. When i got home, i was going through the pictures and when i tried to shut it off, the screen went black but the lens didnt go back in. Now when i try to turn it on, it makes a "er er" sound. like a buzzer. It wont let me download pictures or nothing. What should i do?

Well the good news is that your pictures are on the SD card. So that's easily handled with a USB card reader. You can then drag and drop them right onto your PC.
As for the issue, could be anything from an out of alignment lens to excessive moisture to dead or dying battery, dirty battery contacts or even a failing CCD chip.
Start with the easy stuff. Cycle the camera on/off several times to see if the lens works it's way back into alignment. If it doesn't have say half a dozen times - DO NOT FORCE IT. Take the batteries out and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. While out, I'd take a cup of uncooked rice in a zip lock and place your camera in there for a day or so. This could pull out any excess moisture. Then place the batteries back in and try it again. If it doesn't work, then it may be something requiring repair.

mine opens then closes straight away, it wont work and its new but i have lost the reciept, i,ll never buy anything kodak again. as for the rice, place the camera in with the rice and microwave it on high for a day or so, will taste better than it works :)

Not exactly sure if I like this camera or not yet. I haven't heard the noise that seems to be a major complaint but I can't get my memory card to work in it either. time will tell

No bad easy to use, but is absolutely crap with windows 7 that refuses to recognise it even after visiting the Kodak site and downloading new software....i rate it as old technology and pedestrian

I would say it's crappy drivers. Get a USB card reader and plug your memory card into it. Then it's a simple drag and drop with no problems.

I bought two of these cameras and one broke so I bought a second one... Now after only really using it one time it wont turn on and stay on. The viewfinder comes out, it turns on but then turns off immediately afterwards before the screen can say Kodak. I have 2 batteries that are fully charged and the connections are clean.... Why is my camera not staying on??

Same happened to me. Camera would turn on, lens extends and then back off and retracts lens. Had to send in for repair. Got it back, did the same thing. They claim that keeping the camera in a case or a purse and then accidentally hitting the "on" button makes the lens come out and hurts the gears. Mine did it after sitting on a shelf so I don't think that is valid. Short answer is...these models are prone to this, the know it, and there's no at-home fix that has worked for me.

How do I activate the date/time stamp feature? I have managed to set the time and date with no problem, but can't figure out how to activate this feature on the pictures I take.

Why does it tell me that there is no memory card inserted but I put one in there and it is inserted correctly? The person at the store picked out the memory card and it matches what the manual says it should be. I made sure the card was unlocked. When I try to format the card, it reads that there is no card inserted.

Mine has done the same thing once, it said there was no memory card inserted and reformatting was necessary. I reformatted, still nothing, so I took the memory card out and put it back in and everything was fine. I had saved all the pictures on it to my computer, so I didn't lose any of the pictures it deleted, but if you haven't saved the pictures I'd recommend doing so before reformatting to avoid losing pictures.

That can happen. I think it means that the card isn't fully "seated" to the camera slot. Could be dirt or grime on the contacts, could just be the contacts are slightly disconnected and when you reseat the card, it reconnects. It's not uncommon.

I want to stay with Kodak Easyshare if possible but must have an optical viewfinder (a rarity these days) and as short a digital delay as possible without spending $600.00. Another problem with my present Kodak Z650 is its four minute battery saving time that cannot be extended. I am looking for a pocket model and plan to continue to use the Z650 for Landscape and still portraits where it excells with it's Schneider Kreuznach lens.

The book and online support are great. The "P": function opens up a menu that allows setting for almost any light condition. Stabilization and big LCD are great and effective. It is easy for me to take anywhere. I love mine.

I generally liked Kodak digital cameras because they didn't come with as many strings attached, were relatively cheap, and you could take a lot of photos. At least, the Kodak 863 I had lasted 3 years. But the newer models are unreliable. After my Kodak 1063 "quit working" after 1 month in 2009, I decided to give Kodak one more shot when my 863 quit recharging/downloading. So I got the Kodak M341, with greater image size and more advanced "smart capture" technology. The problem, though, is that the cameras tend to shut down/stop working if one uses the autozoom, or "views the pictures" too often. In this case, though, I simply took a picture of a plant in the room, and voila! The camera died. This POS camera is less than a month old (about 21 days). It's under warranty but I have to pay for shipping, and who knows if the "replacement" product will survive delivery?

This is my 4th camera since April 2010. My 3 yr old camera finally gave out..at $100 it served me well. Lost my first one 4 hours after I got it...got a next kodak..that one died in one week. Exchanged for more $ kodak..and that worked 2 weeks and died. Now the newest one the m341 died on the biggest day of my year...GRRR....as I said I loved my first one..but they have been junk since....
Anyone have a recommendation for a $100-150 camera that I can use for more than a month!
Damn thing won't take a charge and will turn on but off right away..

okay so i got this camera like 3 days ago for my 14th birthday and i was so excited!! it really is a great camera the ONLY thing wrong with it is the really annoying sound it makes- its definitely is not suppost to be making it and i cant get it to stop!! im just really mad and i might have to return it. if any knows how to stop the noise let me know bc then it would b perfect

I wanted a digital camera, just to point and shoot. As long as it was small, and the controls were easy to operate, (I have fairly large fingers) and it fit the price I had budgeted for. So far, this camera has done all of that. Without having any previous experience with digital cameras I have already taken pictures, installed the software, transferred the pics to the computer. I was very pleased with the detail in the pictures and found the camera very receptive and easy to use. All I had to purchase other than the camera was a memory card and a case. Everything else included. It feels neat to hold. Very pleased.

I bought a Kodak M341 camera 2 days after Christmas and got a great deal. Frankly, I was surprised by the excellence of picture quality. I am by no means a great picture taker, but the vast majority of my shots came out terrific. Transfer of photos to computer was a breeze, and they were exceptional on the computer screen. The zoom function is also great. The camera also shoots video. Again, I thought at this price it's going to be pretty bad. Wrong. Very clear, and on the computer it was terrific. Even the audio on the computer was much better than one would expect. I also purchased a Kodak digital picture frame for my mom for Christmas. Plugging in the SD card into the frame and transferring the pictures was easy, and the quality again was fine. There isn't much internal memory in the camera, but it was obviously designed with SD card use in mind. I am very pleased with the camera, as it exceeds all expectations and does a great job. I bought an economical case, and this camera is a breeze to travel with, as it is a great camera in a small package. I would recommend this camera to anybody.

Ok, so I used this camera in a class over the summer, and it was AMAZING, so I decided that once my current camera broke, I would buy this one. Well, my old camera finally gave out, and I went and bought this one. I was super excited, until i noticed that it started making a strange noise, like it was always loading or something. Then i put the pictures on my computer and the quality wasn't nearly as good as I seemed to remember, So tomorrow I am going to go trade it for another one, hopefully it will be as satisfactory as the one I used over the summer.

Picture quality is great and it is easy to use IF IT WORKS!
Broke after only 2 days while on vacation and no where nearby to buy a new camera.
No more Kodak for me.
