Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xt
Editor's Review
The ultra-compact Minolta DiMAGE Xt weighs only 4 ounces and is just 20mm thick, making it a good choice for those looking for a camera that can easily slide into a pocket or purse. Designed to be carried anywhere, the camera's unique internal lens gives it 3x optical zoom without any lens motion on the exterior, while its super-thin body is designed to slip into a shirt pocket. The Xt can be used underwater with an optional waterproof case and also as a live webcam.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xt Comments & Questions (write your own!)
There's a grain of truth (punny, huh?) to this in that rice quickly sucks up the surrounding moisture. Make sure the environment is free from excess humidity, drop the wet device in a container of rice and let it sit. For a better desiccant, it'd be a good idea to store all those little silica gel packets that come in anything from shoe boxes to moisture-sensitive gadgets.
It may be trashed, but I'd try it anyway just to be sure. Since Minolta/Konica is now out of the camera business (Sony repairs them, however), coupled with the relative age of the camera, it's probably not worth repairing. So dip it in rice for a week and see what happens. Worst case, you're going camera shopping again.
Again, thank you!
Up front, I'm not a SONY fan (although I hear goo dthings about the W55). My issue is that they tend to force their customers into proprietary technologies such as the memory stick, their own spin on formatting, and a host of others which the Canon won't do. Canon relies on SD cards, which are pretty much the standard in point and shoot for memory cards. This means you can use any you happen to currently have and they are much cheaper than memory sticks. You can also use them in other technologies like PDAs, DMPs, and even mp3 players, whereas that memory stick is only going to be used in another SONY.
For comparison, you may want to check out this resource ( imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP... ). It takes pictures with each and you can compare them side by side. I also recommend that when trying to make a final call, it may just come down to what camera feels good in your hand. Go to a local camera store and check both out side by side, holding them, feeling their center of gravity, the balance. How it sits in your hand. That usually sells me one way or the other.
I'm thinking you should be looking for a new model camera.

It's a nice handy little camera and it does exactly what I expect from it. So for me no bulky ,expensive camera. This thing is good fun !

Light, tough, compact. And takes a very good photo.
slight drawback - the autofocus can take a while to sort itself out.

It delivers everything it promises when there is a lot of light, otherwise the colors in the pictures become kind of noisy.

In my opinion the Dimage XT is the Corvette, for point and shoot digital cameras. It really performs well in almost all areas, especially for the price!. The only area my camera underperformed in was when taking pics in dark areas. Sometimes the pic would be blurry, but always lacked good colour saturation in the dark. Day shots are very good quality. The last peeve is the lack of protective cover for the LCD screen. Mine has a small mark on it now. Overall though, I love the camera, and I still get compliments on it's styling and size!

The camera is good, but in the cloudy days doesnt work right.

This camera is sleek for its size n shape....n also its function...i.e unlimited video and remote camera function. However, the main function being taking photographs....I find the photos r grainy, and not sharp. I have friends using this camera, and we r not happy with the quality of the pictures. Esp on days where there is no sunlight (inadequate lighting). I certainly do not recommend this camera to anyone else...i am trying to get rid of mine too!!

This cute little camera is a very good one.
I am owning it for the past 2 years i used this for taking snaps of my marriage. The photos were very sharp. But it doesnt take good pictures in night. Also you cant use it in rainy season.
Pros : very little and cute, picture quality
Cons : During rain the screen goes blank, photos are not good when taken in night

this camera was awesome till i needed it the most when we were on vacation in hawaii. it will charge half way and then stop, it also is horribly slow at taking pictures. the lens slider stoped working. the worst part is the delay. i spent about 250 on this camera, and now i have to buy another one. total pile.

I loved this camera! i got it from my hubbie and i just love it. I download my photos of vacations, class activities etc. straight into my laptop. It's wonderful. I only wish it were compatible to Imovie. I can't use the movie clips from my camera. Other than this, it's been excellent!

The view screen that indicates the picture to be taken is "cloudy" and you can not see an image. After taking the picture, you can not view the image. Don't know what happened to the camera and fixing will probably cost more than to replace.
