Nikon Coolpix 2200
Editor's Review
The 2-megapixel Nikon Coolpix 2200 may not offer high resolution, but for users who want small prints or images for emailing, it is a stylish and capable camera. Simple controls, multiple preset scene modes, and a movie mode with sound make the Nikon 2200 easy and fun to use, while its compact size and slick design make it a fashionable accessory for a night on the town.

Nikon Coolpix 2200 Comments & Questions (write your own!)
IF it's on the internal memory, then you'll need to install the computer drivers that came on the software disc (you can also download them from Nikon's Website). Connect to PC and You can easily get the pics off your SD card with Picasa ( picasa.google.com/ ). It's a much better photo management tool. And it's free!
Even if that works, I agree with Aditya here, get a USB memory card reader. Much easier than troubleshooting drivers for cameras. Also, if you must, you may need to recover a corrupted card. you can use a utility like "F-Recovery" ( [url=filerecoverytools.com/produ... ) to get back your pictures and recover your card.
But why mess with that? Invest in a $10 USB memory card reader and simply take your card out and plug it in. The PC will read it as a drive and it's a simple drag and drop to get your pictures onto the PC for editing and printing. Much better than trying to trouble shoot driver issues.
Some people have replaced their battery covers, which is a matter of getting the part and then removing a few screws. That might also be worth looking into if the tape is driving you nuts!
Any ideas?
This sounds like a repair issue for a professional ( nikonusa.com/template.php?g... ). Since your camera is over two years old, it may not be worth the repair. You might try using DCHQ's Digital Camera Gift Guide ( digitalcamera-hq.com/digita... ) to find a new camera just for you.

I have owned this little camera for 3 years and it's been everywhere—from the middle east to Hawaii. Great pictures, takes a beating, and great battery life. Flash leaves something to be desired, but otherwise—terrific.

Nikon did great things making this terrific little camera for new/basic users. Clean crisp pictures, and simple functions, can be used by the most novice photographer with excellent photos in the 4x6 size. This camera has turned me into a Nikon user for life.

I had a great time with this little camera, and very good use out of it. It's hardy, surviving being dropped on hard surfaces several times and even falling in a creek. A trip to the beach did it in, however, otherwise I would still be using it today. Everything about it still works fine except the lens, which I assume now has sand in/around it.

I had this camera for 4 months and it broke, I got it fixed but it was not underwarantee and then it broke again 6 months later in the exact same way. It is extreamly non-durable camera. It also takes poor quality pictures and they are very often blurry. It was totally not worth buying because not only do I not have a camera now, but many of the pictures I did take with them are bad. I now need to purchase another camera because its not worth fixing my old one.

Takes super clear closeup shots, NIMH batteries last a long time. Easy for a beginner in digital to figure out. Tons of options built in. With the card I have in it I can take 252 highest quality shots on the card. Many more at lesser quality. I use the lowest quality for my emails. I have printed good 8x10 pics with it also. Never any problems with it. Flash works perfectly and will light up a big room or throttle the power back t o give you a close up from 2 inches from the camera lens!

I was a film camera user for many years and finally went digital. This is a great little camera. I use it for work and home and carry it constantly. For 2 mega pixels, I am amazed at the picture quality.

I bought this camera for my 15 year-old daughter. Within about 10 minutes of opening the box, she was taking pictures. It's small, easy to use, and takes crisp, clear pictures. She's very happy with it, even with just 2 megapixels.
