Hey! You should know that Nikon has released a newer version of this product: the Nikon COOLPIX L26.
Nikon Coolpix L24
Editor's Review
The L24 is Nikon's bottom-end Coolpix model for 2011. It's pretty bare-bones, with a limited 3.6x optical zoom range starting at a narrow 37mm wide-angle and AA battery power. The LCD is a comfortable 3-inches, which is above-average for a budget camera. It's a good budget camera, but beware of the cheap battery compartment door. These seem to last no more than a couple months before snapping.

- 3.6x optical zoom
- 3-inch LCD
- VGA video

Nikon Coolpix L24 Comments & Questions (write your own!)
Battery door is seriously flawed. (Kevin24 — 03/05/2012)
I had 5 of these under warranty. The tab holding the battery door closed is seriously flawed. I finally got Nikon to switch me to an S4100 which I needed for the draw feature for work. I am going to replace this camera with a Canon 1200 for my kid

I've been meaning to amend the review, and will do so right now. This has been a constant problem with the camera and one that Nikon should have fixed (but didn't) in the L26.
