Nikon COOLPIX L26
16.1 megapixel CCD sensor; 5x optical zoom with 26mm wide-angle; 3-inch LCD; 720p video recording with mono sound; 2 AA batteries
Nikon's cheapest camera, the L24, gets an upgrade in the L26. The sensor has been switched out for a 16 megapixel CCD, the zoom is now 5x, and video has been increased to 720p. The camera still runs on AA's, too, which is both good and bad. They typically result in much slower flash recharge times but, of course, can be found anywhere. Be aware that the battery compartment door is very flimsy on these low-level Nikons.
