Nikon D2H

Editor's Review

The lightning-fast Nikon D2H is built to satisfy the needs of photojournalists and other professional photographers. The D2H was designed around the premise that most journalists don't need more than 4 megapixels, so Nikon has traded high-resolution for an impressive list of other credentials, including an optional wireless transmitter, 38 millisecond shutter lag, and a burst shooting mode that can capture eight frames per second for up to 40 frames.

  • 4.1 megapixels (effective)
  • auto and manual focus
  • program and manual exposure
  • JPEG and RAW file formats
  • ISO range 200-1600
  • proprietary Lithium-Ion battery. Accepts interchangeable Nikon lenses -- lens not included
  • UPC: 00018208252084
  • Release Date: Aug 05, 2003

not a toy ...[for serious image makers] (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

My film cameras have been Canon, Leica, Hasselblad & Sinar [4x5] This is my 2nd digital camera the first was an Olympus e-20n which was a dismal performer in low light focusing. Anyway I bought the d2h at the reduced price [$1,999.00] All it takes to make great images is to learn how to use this fine camera. Good luck to all who decide to buy this gem.

So fast so accurate (anonymous — 07/18/2006)
Amazing, spot on focus, no hunting, and then when you hit the shutter, frame after frame captured in RAW without a pause. I was concerned about 4.1 mega pixels. It creates no problems unless you want to crop images to ludicrous amounts. Wonderful a totally sorted piece of kit.

A simply superb camera for sports and nature (anonymous — 07/18/2006)
Simply marvelous. Very fast and accurate. Although only 4.1 mp, it is a labcast and the quality is just as good as a 6.1 mp. Very responsive and robust. Highly recommended for any occasions
