Poor Picture Qualtiy (Dee — 09/17/2009)

I agree: Last night I purchased & used the S230. Unfortunately, I had No time for due diligence or doing my homework first. I wish I had reviewed comments made by current owners and independent reviewers. The picture quality is very poor, grainy and you do not receive a clear picture. However, I did like the ease of using the touch screen.

Bad Image Quality (Jyothi Prakash — 08/02/2009)

I thought Nikon is better than SONY & bought Nikon S230, but i was wrong the image quality in Nikon S230 is pretty low, not very crystal clear & the images are pretty dark. every time i shoot a photo in Nikon S230 i need to keep changeing the modes. Auto mode dosent work properly. The only good thing of Nikon S230 is its video quality which we dont need much in Point & shoot camera.

Nikon S230 (Kirk Wahrman — 07/31/2009)

Good point and shoot camera.

Pros - Small, light weight, touch screen.

Cons - "Zoom" feature is really grainy when you pull in too tight.

This camera does not disapoint the name NIKON. I bought this camera to shoot snapshots instead of lugging my Nikon DSLR and accessories around for snapshot moments and it maintains the picture quality until you use the tight zoom feature.

My old grandad bought this camera in 1901 the year of the wallaby where i come from it has everything you could need in a picture making device its 42.3mm refractive high indext pot smoking lens is the perfect way to spend a eving lifting its two ton lens onto its 3.4 gram body and getting your slaves to ajust the focus on the lens cos you cant get anywhere near the thing cos its that long is all made up for by the fact the resolution is so high the hubble telescope phones you up night after night and says how much it hates you for being so flash
yep guys tou can poke at the lens and its little gagetiy things till the wifes sick of you and your hundered candid shots of her in the shower
