The 7.1-megapixel Olympus C-7070 Wide Zoom is the newest member of Olympus' popular Wide Zoom line of digital cameras (as of January, 2005). With a 27 - 110mm lens, the Olympus C-7070 is comfortable with both wide and tight shots, making it a good choice for photographers who shoot a variety of subjects. Hope the C-7070 is better than the C-5060 (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

I have a C-5060 that is about 2 years old. A common with the mode switch cost me $180 from Olympus service shop to fix.. No consideration given no matter how much I begged.. I would not buy another Olympus C series camera.

Is very good camera , takes fine pictures (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

I own this c-7070 camera for about 8 months now, and i have taken a lot of pictures of cycling races and cyclo-cross ! It takes mostly vy nice pictures , when the operator knows the settings by heart! Its not easy going camera, like point and shoot, I still don't know all the whistles and bells ! Still learning and improving the quality !The film mode is vy nice and is having some kind of stabilizer to reduce camera movements when filming! It's not really the first digital camera I own, it's the first sophisticated one and I think , I have this one for a long time ! 7Mpixels is ok in format and size of images ! The learning curve should be a bit steeper , I have my time and enjoy every minute I work with it!
Think its a big improvement compaired to the c-5060 of Olympus !

Excellent all around digital camera (anonymous — 07/18/2006)

I've been really impressed with this camera since I got it. It takes great pictures. There is no shortage of options. The movie mode was good. The sound is a little "tin-like," but as good as can be expected from a camera that's not a camcorder. I like the wide lens and the autofocus hasn't had a problem focusing in on any subject at any zoom. The camera seems user friendly but the buttons seem a little small. I have big fingers so the complaint may not be valid if you have normal sized fingers. I wish the len se cap had a string or something to connect it to the base of the camera because it falls off too easily. These minor complaints pail in comparison to the positive features of this camera and I've been recommending it to friends since I purchased it. I doubt there is a better camera on the market for the price that has this many features.

underwater use (Dave — 08/13/2005)

I am very new to photography but wanted a camera I could grow in to. So far I have found the 7070 to be very good for wide angle photos of wrecks etc.
The supermacro on the other hand is not so good,it is very poor at focusing even in manual mode.
The battery life is excellent and I am glad I bought this camera.
