Before this camera I had purchashed the first Sony Cybershot DSC T1. For the amount I paid for the Sony, I expected a much better experience with my photos. I was highly disappointed. My photos taken outside in daylight turned out okay most of the time, but more often than not they were blurry - especially if taken indoors or in darker settings. I would have to tell my children not to move, while I tried not to move and still 3 out of 5 wouldn't turn out. When I purchased my Olympus, after I charged it I started snapping photos of my children while 'walking' into the kitchen and they came out perfect! I snapped some photos of our family room without lights on and it turned out perfect. I was so impressed with that I went into my daughters room, closed the door, turned off all lights and snapped a photo - it came out perfect - you couldn't tell in the least there were no lights on. I am verrrryyyyyy happy with my camera! Although, I do need to read more into the manual to see if there are different settings to elimate the pause when recording the image so I can get my son who likes to cover his face when I try to get a photo. :)

I bought the FE 5010 while on vacation because our old camera started taking very blurry shots (it was about 8 yrs. old and we were planning on replacing it soon anyway). I took over 100 pics without reading the manual cover to cover (I briefly scanned it) and many of the pics didn't come out well at all (blurry, dark, etc). I figured it was because of my lack of knowledge about the camera so I came home from vacation and read the manual in depth. I'd like to think I'm a fairly intelligent person but this manual was confusing and was certainly not "user friendly." I set the modes to what I believed would give me better shots and I began experimenting. The pics didn't come out much better than before reading the manual. This camera is new to the market and I feel that it has great features but isn't equipped to take beautiful, clear shots. Luckily the store I purchased it from said I could return it within 30 days if I was not happy with it. I'm going to that store today to make the return.

I was amazed at this camera! For the price you can't beat what olympus has packed in this camera! The internal memory, smile shot advanced face detection, mini sd card compatible!
