Editors' Comments
The Stylus 5010 has the smallest zoom of any non-TOUGH Stylus camera this year, but has HD video while the 7030 does not. Like a few other Stylus models this year, it has a fair amount of built-in memory, 1 GB in this case. We think the 7040 is the best of the bunch, but it also costs $50 extra. It really comes down to your preference between zoom and video. If zoom matters, go with the 7030; if HD video is more important, this should be an acceptable choice.

Olympus 5010 vs Panasonic Lumix with regards to video (John — 03/20/2010)
How does the Olympus Stylus 5010 compare with Panasonic Lumix ZS3 with regards to video (including sound? Can both/either fit on a tripod? Thank you JohnRossini11@yahoo.com

All point and shoots can fit on a tripod, so I wouldn't worry about that. As for the two cameras head to head, I give Panasonic the edge. They're on the top of their game right now, whereas Olympus' point and shoots have been a tad lack luster noisy and poor color in low light.

How would you say this compares to the Panasonic Lumix FH1 or FH20?

The Fh20 has nearly 30% more zoom.
