Olympus Stylus 7040
Editor's Review
The Stylus 7040 is another good-looking, middle-of-the-road point-and-shoot from Olympus. It's very similar to the 7030, though notable improvements include a 720p HD MP4 video mode (rather than SD motion JPEG), a larger LCD, and twice as much built-in memory. Other than that, nothing too special here, but a good price for a P&S with these specs, circa 2010.

How would you compare this to the Canon Power Shot SX120?

Well the few reviews I've seen give at 8 out of 10 and above. Calling it excellent. But it may be too soon to tell as some also complain that image quality is lackluster.
As for the SX120, it has been called best in class for it's photo quality, but the price it pays in it's sluggish performance may cause some pause.
I think if you have the time, you should wait until a few more reviews come in on the O7040. But if not, it may be worth taking a chance on.
