Panasonic Lumix DMC-3D1
Panasonic has jumped into the 3D arena with the 3D1, a compact camera with two lenses that hopes to compete with Fujifilm's W3. While the specifications certainly look promising: 3D capture in 1080p, two 25-100mm lenses that can take pictures simultaneously at different fields of view, and a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, these do not all add up to a good 3D camera. Image quality does seem to be better than the W3, but the camera is let down by relatively slow f3.9 lenses, only a small separation between the lenses, no 3D screen to actually view the results, and an exorbitant price tag. Many of the manual settings, such as ISO or even using the flash, are also inexplicably disabled when shooting 3D. Thus far, there's no really good option for a 3D camera.
