Pentax Optio E30
Editor's Review
The Pentax Optio E30 is an all-new entry-level ultracompact that claims to be a snap, but consumers who have been burned by the 'E' series before may feel differently. The E30 is related to the Pentax Optio E10, a camera that was so widely and vehemently denounced by our readers, we decided to name it the worst digital camera ever. On paper, the E30 looks like a fairly standard budget camera, but we at DCHQ can't in good faith recommend this camera, as Pentax has demonstrated a clear lack of quality control in their budget and entry-level models.

Pentax Optio E30 Comments & Questions (write your own!)
Best place to learn about this stuff is videohelp.com. There's tons of step by step instructions there for you. Good luck.
1.) I hate Casio :)
2.) Pentax E30 has more favorable ratings than the Casio Z120.
In terms of their stats, they're pretty much equal. But if you're offered a free trade from the Z120 to the E30, I'd jump on it. And digital image stabilization is garbage.
Here are some pictures of the Pentax E30. Keep in mind, these are very amateur pictures. Especially on pictures of people (the photographer had his shutter speed way too high). Look at the fish tank, and car outside, etc. They're pretty good.
flickr.com/search/?q=pentax... can do the same with the Z120, and there are some pictures at www.amazon.com if you look up "Casio Z120".
Good luck.
For longer battery life, you need to invest a little bit in the rechargeable batteries and battery chargers. Take a look at <a href="gpbattery.com/index_files/C... site</a> for examples of rechargeable batteries.
The 2700 mah batteries should be the one to use for digital cameras.
Nowadays, you can get free batteries if you buy battery chargers. They come together in a pack.
how can i get them back????
My favorite for a number of years is Zero Assumption Digital Image Recovery which you can down load from the internet.
z-a-recovery.com/digital-im... site lists the steps to recover your pictures in details and provides a link to download the software.
Just plug your card reader to the computer together with your memory card and run Zero Assumption. You will be able to get your picture files restored.

Good performance for a few months. It is now showing "battery depleted" and is not working now for over a month. I am still trying to figure out "how to bet it repaired. It is in Warrenty but no response from the Pentax dealer.

my brother & his gf kindly bought me this as a gift. It looks, right from the box, like a pretty 'budget' thing, but I can tell you, this 100 bills cam I've been using it everyday for 3 weeks and it's proved not only 100% reliable (it's had zero weird quirks) but also.. the pictures....WOW. Unless you are a pro photographer.. you surely would never need better quality than this. The pictures are just stunning. I took some of myself and I had never had such good pics of me before. They looked like I'd paid for them and the lighting in the location was fairly poor too. Anyway, I talked to my bro and he said, they got me it cause 7.1 megapixles is perfect just what you need. He showed me then just how big I can blow up these fine prints without losing any quality. Wow, quite incredible tecnology. I've only had it 3 weeks or so, but I am amazed at the Optio E35 pentax in everyway from easy operation to it's pictures

The camera came equipped with a variety of items - inclusive of batteries. A rather simple camera - this is what I wished as I hate losing via theft expensive cameras when on vacation. Everything being straight forward - I quickly set the date and time and realized the batteries were already in YELLOW MODE. I managed to take 4 pictures, the batteries were completely dead as the flash didn't work on any of those 4 pics. There has to be a better means to use this camera......who out there can recommend the best RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES for domestic and international travel c/w CHARGER but I do not need a charger for the vehicle as too many cars don't come with a cigarette lighter anymore. I'm rating this camera as GOOD as I expect it will do a good job for what I need it for - at least I hope so. Thanks!

i liked this camera because it was easy to take around but not a professioal camera (as expected) for the smal price it was a good deal
