Announced alongside the NX210 and NX20, the NX1000 is aimed squarely at the budget mirrorless market. It boasts the same 20.3 megapixel sensor as the higher-end models, yet that sensor is housed in a point-and-shoot style body reminiscent of Nikon's J1 and Sony's NEX-C3. Although not an upgrade, the sensor is quite competitive and promises to provide fantastic image quality. The NX lens lineup is also slowly growing and, while not as extensive as micro 4/3, is right in line with Sony's E-mount. What sets the NX1000, as well as the NX210 and NX20, apart is the inclusion of built-in wireless. They are the first high-end, non compact cameras to have this feature and make Nikon's D3200, with its optional $70 wireless accessory, a bit silly. The NX1000 is essentially the NX210 with fewer external controls, a lower resolution screen, cheaper construction and no built-in flash. It may just be worth it for the savings.
