Great Buy! (Annie M. — 02/15/2010)
I just purchased this camera, it was between this camera(SL30) and the Nikon L20. Based on the reviews I saw, I chose the SL30. Both were same price- $89.00 although the SL30 does not come with a memory card, so that added $13.00. I have been taking pictures inside and outside at night during the day, during a snowstorm, and almost everyone is a good shot. Most of them are "action" shots of my puppy. I leave it on the auto setting and it works great. It has excellent response time, which is what I wanted. The nikon i tried had a lag, where by the time it took the picture, it was not a shot I wanted. So far, so good. It is Mac compatible, all I had to do was plug it in via usb and there were my pictures, no software needed!

Lots of bangs for not a lot of bucks (Dan S. — 12/28/2009)

What an incredible little camera. I didn't expect much when we got this camera as a Christmas gift but was I ever surprised. Amazing, high-quality pictures. I took a picture with this one and my old camera both on the highest quality settings and and the difference was like real life compared to a sketch.

Choosing settings for the camera is very easy. I put the batteries in and within a couple of minutes - without opening the instruction manual - I was taking terrific pictures.

The only downside I have seen to this camera is the built-in memory - 11 MB. If you take one 10 megapixel shot, your memory is full. Fortunately, this camera will hold up to 16GB HCSD memory card ($40-$50). This will allow you to take lots of pictures without worrying about memory space. In my opinion, a camera should have enough on board memory to store 10-20 pictures taken on the highest quality setting that the camera has to offer. With memory as cheap as it is, this should not up the price more than $4-$5 and it would make the camera much more appealing.

All-in-all, I love it!

REALLY great pics (anup — 11/03/2009)

it has rechargable ( aa type) batteries , you might have to buy them when the old ones get worn out . its not a problem as they are easily available . better than running for a particular battery model which you are not sure if it will be available .... you can buy the camera without hesitation as it gives really REALLY great pics . i did not expect pictures of such good quality when i bought this camera. it has a host of settings and a special setting for taking pictures of people ( beauty shot) which removes facial imperfections. the movie shot with this camera is great ........ as well as a cable to directly connect it to the tv .... the lcd screen with this camera is much better than my canon . my older canon was so complicated that i had trouble using it ...... its a good product from samsung after a very long time ......has a host of manual seetings , you can choose to go manual if you want to ....

this is an amazing camera! has many great first i thought it was a little thick but you get used to it. i like how it doesnt take long after you take the photo. one thing that i didnt like about it was when it runs out of battery it randomly goes from full to low. but overall, it is a really good camera!

Awesome! (Will — 10/02/2009)

High quality camera for only $80. You can even play a sideshow with music on the camera! It doesn't come with rechargeable batteries, but you can buy AA rechargeable ones. It's also durable, but if it has a big drop or damaging fall when recording or taking a picture, it will say "File error" on the picture or video.

Features for the price! (Mike Youmans — 08/02/2009)

I went to Target looking for a cheap replacement to a nice camera of mine that had recently been broken. While looking at the display items I saw this SL30. I took several test pics and a video or two and was very impressed. The price was 89.99 and without hesitating I bought it.

Once home I took serveral still pictures and a few low and high motion videos. All I can say is WOW! The image quality and ease of use was easily better then the camera I was replacing. When you look through the menus and see all the features and options it is clear that this is a full-featured digital camera. For that price, I think this camera is an extraordinary deal! I highly recommend it.

Awesome point and shoot (SL — 06/29/2009)

I got this camera for my dad's retirement present. It was so cheap for what it is. It is super easy to use, the pictures are of amazing quality. No complications at all. My dad won't try to use any of the 'Fancy" features so is perfect for someone that just wants to take beautiful pictures.

Good Camera for the price (Heather — 06/24/2009)

I picked this camera up at Target for $89 on sale. I love the pictures they are super clear in Auto mode. The pictures I took in "sunset" mode also turned out very nice. The Night mode and fireworks mode were not my favorite, I dont thing they turned out at all. I must have moved too quickly on some of the pictures, because one or two were a little fuzzy. Overall I think this is a great camera and will take some amazing pictures!
