The HX20V is Sony's midrange travel zoom camera, and comes with the same lens and essentially the same feature set as the more expensive HX30V. A 20x zoom fits in a pretty small body that, with its 18 megapixel CMOS sensor, performs surprisingly well in low light. Images can be soft when
looked at closely, but overall the sensor pulls more detail out of a
scene than Sony's prior 16 megapixel iterations. Focus speed as well as
burst speeds are among the fastest on the market, too, which helps make
up for the lack of RAW. In summary, a great package that competes with
the best of the travel zooms. The only difference between the two cameras is the HX30's addition of WiFi.

I have a Nikon camera that lets you take a picture within the camera , pick on something on that picture , draw zome it in and click it and we have the original picture plus the edited one . Does this camera , sony cyber shot DSC-HX20V , have this feature ?

No I don't believe you can draw on a picture and have it save a new one. You can edit pictures in-camera and have it save a new version.

I am 5 days into Best Buy test and return 30 day period for this camera. I am upgrading from my wonderful Canon Elph SD300 pocket camera (it gets more travel-use than my big DSLR cam). I finally gave up ever finding a similar Elph or competitor with added image stab & optical VF. So am trying Sony HX 20V-its bigger and still no opt VF but has IS and fits on my belt. My major complaint so far is how do I use this complex machine? The little 20+ page Sony user book basically tells how to put in battery and flash card-Duh. There is little to zero instruction for the rest of "stuff". Sony does refer you to a bunch of good video clips for "stuff" but NO PDF documentation. I cannot always access video clips and they are a pain to try and flip back forth between instructions that paper and PDF would allow. I may return this neat little travel camera, based on that Sony short-sighted action alone. I don't want to try and memorize 10 or 12 video clips or buy an iPhone or carry a computer every where I go. After paying $450.00+ I think Sony is too lazy and user unfriendly. My Gosh! Casio gave me a 70 page book for my wrist watch!! I am PO'd.

I believe all the Sony cameras do come with a disc that has the manual on it. You can also download the full manual from Sony's website: sony.co.uk/support/en/produ...

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry, no CD in package. Very difficult to get my MacBook Pro hooked into Sony site for registration or download. Called my local Mac geek; he could not make it work either. Gave up on registration. Rated Sony 1 out of 10. They asked why? I was happy to tell them: "Because you make information and registration about your product a horrible experience. Your registration process is equal to nuclear weapon info security clearance_WHY?
I am still trying to acquire info about my new camera that once I loved but am beginning to hate. And I may return it to store if I keep having these problems. Why did you not include; 1-a CD user manual in the box or 2-a simple Google search for HX20V User Manual and one click for PDF download. Your complexity is ridiculous."
Searched on several Sony sites for PDF copy-no luck, (about 3 clicks and I had ~250 pg Canon SX260 manual in my computer-costs?=zero). Established live chat with Sony; explained short comings of 25 pg Sony manual. She said she would give me download link- I'm all smiles-then I got the 25 pg manual; She's sorry- no PDF and the more detailed Sony info is NOT available to owners for download or print. She did offer to sell me manual through third party. I said I had better solution: return Sony; buy Canon, save $$.

I liked the camera, but don;t use it all that often. I like having a booklet to take with me on vacation in case I need help ....and this doesn;t have one...onto Canon's cameras I guess.
