Editor's Review

The W-series has done really well in the past couple years, blending a diminutive size with stylish brushed-metal body and snappy performance. The W610 is the cheapest of the new cameras, packing a 4x zoom with 26mm wide-angle and 14 megapixel body. It's great for the size, but to be truly competitive we would have liked to see either 720p video or image stabilization included (or both!).

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W610 Reviews

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W610 Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Sony has been a leader in the market for consumer electronics for the past 30 years. Sony has made cameras that are ideal for casual users, hobbyists, and professional photographers through their dedication to using the most up to date technology with a sleek and minimal style, resulting in an end result of the highest quality.

Sony's Latest Innovation in the Digital Camera Realm

In September 2012, Sony announced the release of its latest camera, the Cybershot DSC-RX1. This is the world's first full-frame compact digital camera, according to Sony. A 24.3 megapixel full-frame sensor attached to a capable 35mm f2 lens makes this camera very desirable. Being able to produce professional quality photos in a small package that fits in your pocket ensure the popularity of this camera.

Consumer ratings point to the following cameras as two of Sony's best digital cameras of 2012:

* Sony Cybershot HX30V: For amazing photos and video in a package that's compact, but versatile, and perfect for consumers who love travelling, this is a great Sony digital camera. A GPS tracker, full HD video capability, and a very fast continuous burst mode make this 18.2 megapixel camera one that is heavy on extras. It's known for its fast performance as well.
* Sony Cybershot HX200V: This model has been rated by consumers as one of Sony's best digital cameras asa result of its extremely large 35x optical zoom and fast burst mode. Lacking RAW capture, it's clear that Sony is marketing this camera for a more amateur market than a lot of the competition. Sony digital camera reviews rate the HX200's image quality as good to excellent, and video quality is one of the the finest on the market.
