Editor's Review

The W-series has done really well in the past couple years, blending a diminutive size with stylish brushed-metal body and snappy performance. The W610 is the cheapest of the new cameras, packing a 4x zoom with 26mm wide-angle and 14 megapixel body. It's great for the size, but to be truly competitive we would have liked to see either 720p video or image stabilization included (or both!).

  • Release Date: Jan 09, 2012

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W610 Reviews

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W610 Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Throughout the past thirty years, Sony has been a leader in the consumer electronics industry. All Sony digital cameras are proof of the company's dedication to using the latest technology together with minimalist styling to make high-quality compact digital cameras for casual users, hobbyists, and now professional photographers.

The Newest Sony Digital Camera Innovation

Sony announced the release of the DSC-RX1, its latest camera, in September 2012. As indicated by Sony, this is the world's first full-frame compact digital camera. It boasts a 24.3 megapixel full-frame sensor attached to a capable 35mm f2 lens. This pocketable combination produces professional-quality photos in a relatively small package.

Two of the best Sony digital cameras of 2012 according to consumer ratings include the following:

* Sony Cybershot HX30V: For great photos and video in a compact yet flexible package that's perfect for people who like travelling, this is a perfect Sony digital camera. A GPS tracker, full HD video capture, and a very fast continuous burst mode make this 18.2 megapixel camera one that is very full featured. It's sought after for its fast performance as well.
* Sony Cybershot HX200V: This model is rated by consumers as one of Sony's best digital cameras because of its extremely large 35x optical zoom and fast burst mode. The lack of RAW capture makes it clear that Sony is aiming the camera at a more amateur market than some of the competition. The HX200's image quality is rated from good to excellent in Sony digital camera reviews, and video quality is one of the the finest you can get.

Sony has a broad product line of digital cameras suitable for photographers of any skill level, and reviews of most of the cameras offered by Sony can be found on this site. No matter what Sony digital camera you choose, you will be pleased with the photos and videos you make.
