Editor's Review

We fell in love with the RX100, now Sony has released an update that adds even more features to our top pick for advanced compacts. The already large 1" sensor is now back-side illuminated, a different design that increases the camera's low light performance. The accessory shoe port allows for the addition of an optical viewfinder, plus the LCD screen can now tilt for better viewing angles. Sony also added wi-fi capability. The RX100 II maintains the same design and lens as the RX100, along with other specs like the 20.2 megapixels and 10 fps burst mode. The price was also upgraded, however, at about $100 more than it's older sibling.

Sony DSC-RX100M II Reviews

Sony DSC-RX100M II Reviews by Digital Camera-HQ Users

Sony has been a leader in the market for consumer electronics for the past 30 years. Sony has made cameras that are ideal for casual users, hobbyists, and professional photographers through their dedication to using the most up to date technology with a sleek and minimal style, resulting in an end result of the highest quality.

Sony's Latest Innovation in the Digital Camera Realm

In September 2012, Sony announced the release of its latest camera, the Cybershot DSC-RX1. This is the world's first full-frame compact digital camera, according to Sony. A 24.3 megapixel full-frame sensor attached to a capable 35mm f2 lens makes this camera very desirable. Being able to produce professional quality photos in a small package that fits in your pocket ensure the popularity of this camera.

Consumer ratings point to the following cameras as two of Sony's best digital cameras of 2012:

* Sony Cybershot HX30V: For excellent video and photos in a package that's compact, yet versatile, and great for people that love travelling, this is a great Sony digital camera. A GPS tracker, full HD video capture, and an extremely fast continuous burst mode make this 18.2 megapixel camera one that is heavy on extras. It's sought after for its fast performance as well.
* Sony Cybershot HX200V: Its fast burst mode and very large 35x optical zoom has resulted in this model being rated as one of Sony's best digital cameras by consumers. The lack of RAW capture makes it obvious that Sony is aiming the camera at a market that's more amateur than some of the competition. Sony digital camera reviews rate the HX200's image quality as good to excellent, and video quality is one of the the finest on the market.

Reviews for most Sony cameras can be found on this site. They have a broad product line of digital cameras suitable for photographers of any skill level. You will be totally happy with the end result regardless of which Sony digital camera you decide on.
