Nikon CoolPix point-and-shoot digital cameras are hit or miss. They've had some interesting high-end cameras recently, but the mid- and low-cost models usually suffer from iffy image quality. We hope to see an upward trend, but we generally recommend point-and-shoots from other manufacturers. On the other hand, Nikon's dSLRs are excellent, and their entry-level and consumer dSLRs are extremely popular.
